Another good ebay buy.
« on: October 10, 2003, 04:01:01 am »
I noticed a seller who had a set of analog baseball joystick up, well, I got those, and also bought a lot of misc joysticks and a third lot of misc microswitches.

Man did I get a great deal.

The analog baseball joysticks are in perfect condition. They are set up to spring left on the right left axis. But I opened one, and I can easily convert it to prefer to be centered instead. (I will probably convert one, and leave the other one spring loaded to left).

But the real steal was the lot of misc joysticks.

It was only $9.99, and here is what I ended up with.

1 Wico mechanical rotary joystick (leafswitch type). This was missing the knob, but there was also a bag of NOS parts for this stick in the box that included a knob (and some other extra parts for it as well). This one alone was worth the price of the lot.

1 NOS Happ universal joystick. The kind that mounts in a button hole, and has a mounting plate that can switch between 4-way and 8-way.

1 STC 4-way microswitch joystick. Missing one switch. Has great action

1 Red balltop 4-way Pac-Man microswitch joystick. (Missing one switch). This is obviously an aftermarket replacement. The only reason I called it a Pac-Man joystick is because it has the smaller ball that pac-sticks have, and more importantly it has the Pac bolt pattern and not the happ/wico one. This one is kind of a weird design, it uses 4 springs to center the stick. It might be weird, but it is ALL metal and fairly heavy duty.

One blue wico spring type microswitch joystick. Similar to the Happ super, and in excellent condition.

One spare base for the above mentioned blue Wico.

One wico microleaf style 8-way with a missing actuator (this one has a black ball, and it may be able to use the actuator from the abovementioned extra "Wico super" base).

One wico leaf switch stick with a grey base. missing all 4 leafs, but has both long and short handles.

One red handle of unknown type. Not sure If I own anything that this would fit.

Two metal joystick restrictor plates, one with a circle cutout and one with a square cutout. I am not sure what kind of stick these would fit, they certainly don't match up to anything I got in that box.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.
