How to get detailed statistics regarding desktop resolution?
« on: September 13, 2012, 08:12:44 am »
(im using win xp)
hi all so i was messing around with a program called WinModelines which isn't officially supported by my video setup on my laptop, but i think there's a slight chance i might have forced it to put my laptop into a 640x480 15khz arcade/tv compatible resolution

i havn't made up an rgb to scart cable yet, but before i do anything else does anyone know of a program or method so i can actually test that my laptop is now in an arcade/tv compatible mode? (if i just check windows video/system information etc, all it reports is '640x480 60hz', but does not display any advanced data about the screen resolution) ... perhaps there is a program out there which gives DETAILED statistics about what video mode you are currently running?

another thing, when i switch to what i think might be a 15khz mode, the windows/desktop image sill displays on my laptop lcd screen. does this mean that my desktop is probably not in a 15khz arcade mode, or do 15khz modes actually display ok on pc lcd screens? (or, should the lcd have gone 'black' or 'off' when i switch to the 15khz mode?)
