Anyone else down south?  So far so good.. Power is still on and the rain isn't that bad yet. 30 mins or so until first major band hits us.

I got family riding it out in my old hometown in Plaquemines Parish.  They don't seem that worried this time.

lol! Hey man.. we got a large number of your finest here after Katrina..   It's not so bad right now here, but it's creeping this way. Lots of wind, but the power hasn't gone away yet.

A lot of My family got evacuated this afternoon when they decided to close the flood gate near Jesuit bend.  Hoping their houses make it out ok.  Braithwaite got smacked hard from the pics I am getting from friends in parish govt and on the news.

Always love how the media gets obsessed with saying the word "parish" when it's anything involving Louisiana.  Listen to them when they talk about about other states - do you ever hear them mention counties?  Nope.  They'll tell you the closest big city.

Actually they do talk about counties in wide ranging natural disasters like this when going in real time.  Especially when the tornadoes tore through the southeast.  You don't really want to panic the entire city of Chattanooga if the tornado is in a county 50 miles away.
