  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
Hi there.  I got the a later version of MAME (0.146) and a couple of ROMs and it all worked well.
I then installed cpwizard to show me the button commands/assignments. all good, press L and you get the control panel.
I then installed MaLa 1.74, and again all worked well.

however i then discovered that 95% of ROMs did not work.

disheartened i tried with mame32 (0.103) which i had downloaded in error when looking for MAME and 95% of them worked!

so i changed the mame path in MaLa to use mame32 executable, and all is good, however cpwizard now does not work when pressing L.

so I can have latest versions of all components working, however no ROMs work, or have old versions (which does not feel right) and be able to play, but not know any keys...

any ideas from people who use mame/cpwizard/mala as to what version combinations actually work best?

many thanks

Dave

  • 0x2b|~0x2b?
Have you tried this?

Quote
Method 4 (For older versions of Mame < 0.108):

Mame Output System OFF, Use Show Key ON, Send Pause ON, Pause Mode Send Keys, Detect Pause OFF

With these settings CPW sends keys to pause and unpause Mame when you press the Show Key.

Your a star, that worked first time.  I am still confused as to why I need to run such an old version for anything to work, however I am just happy that it's working.  I feel ready to start building a cab now!
