I was switching controllers in my xbox with a xtimer board to jamma when my monitor started to sparkle from the board. I see at least 3 components burned, any thoughts?

A picture is worth a thousand words...
"Some parts died on a monitor" isn't really specific enough to tell you much of anything.

Do you know what monitor chassis you have? Brand and Model? (ie Wells Gardner, Electrohome, Kortek, etc. Any markings on the board at all?
