Hey at least he apologized for getting it in her eye.

Now that's a gentleman.

Just another thing Chuck Berry did first and better that was stolen from him.

I saw him like 5 years ago at some Casino out here with Little Richard also on the bill.  Little Richard can still play and sing as well as ever, Chuck was barely hitting every other note and just kept calling out to the audience to sing the songs because he was so tired.

I can't imagine how bad he is now.  Still worth seeing a living legend I guess.  Who the hell would have believed that you could still see one of the founding fathers of Rock n' Roll in 2012.  Crazy.

I live about 5-10 minutes from the Bel Air where he spied on chicks, now a college owns it, fitting.

Eh I dunno.  When you can't play anymore it's time to retire so people can remember you when you were awesome.  Nobody wants to go back in time and see "fat Elvis" play.

Last year my wife and I saw Don Rickles and Joan Rivers.  Rivers was still amazing and was nonstop energy for 50 minutes.  She pwned the place.  Don Rickles could barely stand up, kept losing his place, and his whole act was centered around being friends with people who died before half the audience was born.  He actually repeated the first 3 minutes of a segment of his act and someone had to come out and tell him he had done that already.  It was pretty sad to see.

I saw Don Rickles open for Frank Sinatra about 18 years ago, and the roles were reversed. Rickles was funny and sharp, and Sinatra at times seemed confused and forgot whole lines. I'm glad I went because Sinatra is a legend, but it was also sad to see.

Where'd you see Rickles?  I saw him in October in Anaheim and he was relatively sharp.  Obviously a lot of the same old jokes but Rickles has earned a pass for sure.

It was either Foxwoods Casino or Mohegan Sun Casino, both in CT.  I forget which one it was.

Saw Rancid play a couple years ago and we couldn't believe how old guitarist Lars Frederiksen looked.
Looked like he was pushing 60, but I knew he had to be younger than that.
He was actually 39 at the time.
Man that guy must have lived a hard life and used a lot of drugs.

Wow, didn't expect to see Lars in this thread.  I LOVE me some Lars Frederiksen & The B@st@rds!  One of my top favorite bands. I listen to Viking just about every time I cut the lawn.  Would love to see them tour again...

I just saw Lars in "The Other F Word".  I didn't think he looked old, but wish he didn't go so crazy on the facial tattoos.

A little more back on subject...did you know that all the original member of The Coasters are gone. It's only a matter of time before we'll say the same about bands like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Rolling Stones, etc..  Sad days ahead.

Age can be a funny thing.  I saw John Mayall a few years ago and it was amazing.  Robben Ford was at that same concert and he's fried.

Saw Santana last year.  2 hours, 45 minutes nonstop.  Never seen anything like that.  Johnny Winter still doing well, too.

 :dunno

Johnny Winter plays a small club right by my house once a year.  I always say I'm going to go and then miss it.  I think it's October this year.  Gotta go.

DO IT!

My biggest regret is going to a festival, where there were always several acts going on at the same time. At the same time that Bo Didley was playing, some one hit wonder (Wolfmother or summink) was also playing. I ran into some friends and they wanted to see Wolfmother (or whoever it was). Didn't see Bo. Later that year, he had a massive stroke  :(

Now all I can say is I saw some band I can't even remember the name of in lieu of a (then) living legend...

Depends on how old she was.  I saw her when she was big, at a college in Western MA (I forget which one), and she was really good.  Simple songs but her voice bounced off every corner in that auditorium.  They had her in a simple cotton dress heavily backlit so you got mostly silhouette from it.  That was freakin' hot.

Granted that was not a poetry reading at the mall...   :-X
