  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
Hi I just launched ArcadeCoinOp.com the other day and I would like everyone to try it out and list some of your games on the site! The site is very search engine optimized and I know you will sell stuff! If you sign up I will give you 50 tokens to list 50 items or one item 50 times. People who visit the site can search for items in all the proper categories, organize the games by zip code to find stuff close to them, and use the search bar at the top of the site to find exactly what they are looking for. Please check out the site and try it out, I have listed a lot of my games already and will put more up. Try out the zip code and search box I think you will really like it!

pinballjim- I think people might want this :) I am tired of eBay and Paypal taking $65 in fees for every $500 dollars I sell on their site!

I have this new site linked up to http://www.ArcadeMonitor.com/ which get 5000 visitors a month so I think this will help a lot, it display stuff listed on ArcadeCoinOp.com and updates the ad every hour with new stuff. If people make money it will work and I am already making money so its working for me :)

Is Game Room Classifieds a website?

To continue on PBJ's vein of cynicism, how is this different from every other site trying to sell coin-op stuff and how is it better than, say, KLOV or here?

One thing that is rather important in coin-op trading is reputation/recourse and this is somewhere where I think the homegrown sites are doomed to failure.

So, your site says:
Quote
This site was built to sell everything you would find in an arcade or on a route. The entire site is search engine optimized to help Google find your item that is up for sale - so if someone goes to Google and types in, "Ms Pac Man arcade game for sale" this site will be on the first Google search listing page!

But if I actually search for "Ms Pac Man arcade game for sale" on Google, your site doesn't show up until over halfway through the 2nd page, and that is just to your "how it works" where you make the "first listing" promise.

SEO is not all a site needs to be successful... and you may not have as much SEO as you think you do. Best of luck though, anything that tries to take a bite out of feebay gets my support.
Completed projects: Pac bartop (Plug & Play), 30th Anniversary Pac cab (MAME), Point Blank (PS1), Centipede (arcade hardware- light restore), VS. Super Mario Bros (arcade hardware- light restore) Tetris Cocktail (SNES), Arcade Classics upright (60-in-1, then MAME), Multi-Raiden (arcade hardware). Pac Man vs.(Gamecube),

Working on: Pinball Re-theme, Homebrew arcade arena shooter

You guys are tough! ArcadeCoinOp.com is only two weeks old and has a pagerank of 0 and their is not any websites even linking to it yet. I just build it and it is very new.  The Ms Pac Man is a good but bad example for the site right now, everybody is selling Ms Pac Man games and their is a lot of sites I need to pass up :)

I typed in: Wild Rider motorcycle arcade game
and it was on the first page of Google

I typed in: Bust-a-Move AGAIN EX
and it was on the first page of Google

I typed in: Tekken Tag Tournament arcade game for sale
and it was on the third page of Google

If you type in: Arcade Monitor
my site arcademonitor.com should be number one on Google

The site pinballjim was talking about http://www.gameroomclassifieds.com do you see that coming up on Google searches? I didn't and that site is ten years old and probably has tons of links back to it. For my site that is only two weeks old and it's already coming up on Google in the places it is coming up that is good. If people link to it, it will build a higher pagerank and be pulled up higher in the Google search :) I am also still working on it and making it better!

CheffoJeffo- The reason it's going to be better then forums is because you can organize the games by zip code and find the ones closest to you and the people looking for the games won't know about those sites and type what they are looking for in to Google.

Well Fed Games- I know I can't believe the feebay fees on shipping but the site is King and does work! LOL for now hehe

I am not charging anybody right now who wants to list some stuff up for sale, I want to get the site really working good first!

My point is that people SELLING games know about those sites (one of which is this one) and use them to sell.  I genuinely wish you luck, although I am not convinced that you understand that your Google results are affected by the fact that you are searching for, then clicking through to your sites and the results will be different for other people.

What is VERY interesting to me, and anybody else in the hobby, is that you seem to have 19" arcade monitors for sale. I checked your forums and didn't see answers to the questions people had about them.

So, do you have 19" arcade monitors for sale ?

I remember when 'Chasing the Chuckwagon' was introduced as an alternative to eBay for arcade sales.  I bought one thing from the site years ago and haven't been back since I've found everything I need on KLOV, eBay or well known retail sites.

This thread reminded me of it, so I went back and followed the link to the new site 'GameGavel'.  The page is a flood of ads, and although there are some console games for sale there are only 6 listings in the arcade category.

I wish you luck with your site, but I'm not convinced there's a need.

Exactly right ... there seems to be nothing new here (except that it isn't an established member that I recognize in any of the arcade communities).
