Computer to CRT without damaging anything.
« on: August 02, 2012, 08:27:19 am »
Hello guys

I would like to build a pc that connects straight to a CRT tv through SCART, I suppose the easiest way is to get a VGA to SCART cable.

My question is; What kind of card (or solution) would allow me following:

Connect my pc straight to a CRT television and use mame & nes/snes/amiga emulators WITHOUT being able to damage the television somehow. I dont really care about windows being flickery since I will be working with a frontend and set the emulators to a low
resolution.

I understand CRT's work at 15khz, and I wouldn't like my CRT to fry once anything higher gets piped through, this assuming a standard
VGA to SCART cable most definitely doesnt filter out anything.  I guess an accidental switch to some crazy resolution might mean the
end of my CRT.

I thank you very much for your time.
