Sharp image 629 ds-r on and off sound
« on: July 28, 2012, 08:16:47 pm »
ok i have this chassis and when it is hooked up it seems to be trying to start but i can hear a light chirp on off on etc. im pretty sure that would indicate a fault at the hot but what i need is a schematic of the chassis. does anybody have this.

:burgerking:ok went ahead and replaced the hot. Same problem. So I started to check voltages and it seems I get 168v up to c814 on. The side that comes from the ad input. On the otherwise I get about .2 volts dc. This is Tue only point I can see that goes from the power supply side to the other side of Tue board besides the transformer. I checked voltage st the hot and I have none or so minimul u couldn't count it. When u check the voltage at the collector at the hot I notice when I hear the overload of the hot on the meter for a second it will go o/l then back to low volts. Checked at the b+ adjustment pin and it shows 169volts dc. I'm stumped

usually a light chirp indicates a blown flyback (which very well may have also taken out the HOT)

so is there tests i can do to verify if it is a blown flyback?

Not really, ussually it will have a visible crack.
some times if you run it in a dark room, you may see arcing come from the flybacks body.

so here is a pic of the back of the board. i have written where i took some voltage levels and they all seem to be around 170 vdc. the only thing is after the transformer i dont have any volts and after that cap that i have indicated. could this just be a faulty flyback or should i try to replace this cap first.
