Is this repairable?
« on: July 11, 2012, 09:26:32 pm »
I just went downstairs to put my arcade back together after a recent move and discovered the monitor had been damaged.  I have NO idea about these sorts of repairs, so Im not sure if this is fixable and/or what the cost to solve the problem is.

The neckboard had been knocked off and was dangling.  The metal pins that interface from the back of the monitor, into the neckboard were bent.

I feel like i could likely bend the pins into a straight position again, but i fear one or more of the pins may have been snapped off...

Is this an easy to solve issue?  Or is this monitor toast now?

hi
if the tube has not had the neck broken
then it is a straight foward fix
bend pin's back :CAREFULLY: to straight
and chk the neck board for crack's,reair if nessary
if however the neck of the tube is cracked u need a new pic-tube

really appreciate the speedy reply!

I just went downstairs and checked the tube again.  There are no cracks in the glass and everything seems to be ok in that respect.  There are 9 metal pins that lead from the tube to the neckboard.  Does that seem to be the appropriate number of pins?  If so, im a happy camper!

there is one pin all by itself, you have to make sure you line up properly with that one.
