WGK7000 Remote board
« on: July 04, 2012, 08:27:14 pm »
Hello everyone,

Hey guys this is my first arcade build.

I have a WG7000 19inch and it didnt come with a remote board, however it has all the pots on the back of the monitor,

Do all WGK7000 have the option to have a remote board or some plain and simple just dont come with them?
(screen is working fine without it btw)

The reason i am asking if this does not come with one i am thinking about making one by desoldering all the pots and just making a flat board putting them all on it and then just running the connectors from the new board back to the old one. (basically and extension cable)

I would only make the cable about 1m in length and could not see there being any Vdrop from that distance.

Would this work guys what are my other options. thanks!

hi
first off the remote board is the external control board u speak of
second why would u want to extent it ?
third why buy all that stuff ? just to header's and a few feet of cable

Hey Ed,

Thanks for your reply.

My model does not come with a remote ad since i have a mame cab i have found different games seem to need the v-hold adjusted.

So i figured i would make a mounting plate under the control panel and move the pots to there so if i run into a game i need to change i can stand in front of the monitor and adjust it nice and easy.

Guess it sounds a little silly but makes it nice and easy for me

hi
epicfatigue
i hear ya,have done it before in the past
but if i may, instead of long-gating the complete remote control board
just do a single pot for the vert..,this way u avoid haveing the horz control to long, which is not really a good thing..also if i rem correct
15khz s/w found here on our fourm's will fix that problem and it should lay right into mame ?,do not take it as a rule but i am clear it will

keep in mind standard potentiometers typically reach unreliability in 50000 to 100000 cycles... i would wager closer to 500 to 1000 cycles. constantly adjusting a pot is very bad for it. it's meant to be a "set-it-and-forget-it" item.

I would look into the reason for the constant need for adjustment first.

hi
lilshawn
the nick states he run's diff mame game's
hench the reason i pointed the nick to 15khz
i do not like the idea of long gateing control's either
nor constant :tweaking:,but it is a common mame complaint
