thanks snaaake-i'll Pm you that info--just curious--could you make a classic pacman, donkey kong or q-bert resemble one of your fighters--you know how they always have that dramatic "lets fight" look to them--I think that would look kind of cool in a cheezeball kind of way

Why would you put a governor on your marquee?

On a similar note, why is everyone in California on CRACK?
If you build a frankenpanel, chances are I don't care for you as a person.

All kidding aside.  I put this together thinking of the old "challenge of the Superfriends" opening i.e. hall of justice flying to meet the legion of doom (see pic).  Anyways, I like that part of it but don't know what to do with the font--it seems plain to me--any suggestions?

Good points--changed pacman to superpacman and doctored luigi to look like mario-also replaced dopey peter pepper with a more aggressive one.--still don't know what to do (if anything) with main logo.

Feel free to take the idea--god knows I've stolen enough ideas from this board :P ;D

Along the storm theme here is control panel 1/3.  It looks empty somehow--thoughts/advice/flames? :P

Edit: what's the widely recognized BYOAC symbol?  is there one?  I would like to give a nod to this site on the panel too.

I think this last CP does look empty. Maybe because it's mostly the same color. I like the one at the top of the list better.

trackball and spinner are on control panel #2.  So what could I do to make this look less barren?  different colors maybe?  more graphics--I was trying for simple and uncluttered but ended up with empty--makes me appreciate the fact that I'm an engineer, not an artist. :P

I think the thunderstorm is a good backdrop, but not good as the main graphic.

It's complexity makes you search it for meaning, but there really isn't any. Your first concept, with the text-over works, because there's a lot of complexity, but there are words too.

I think if you either put some characters or other objects on the storm, or some words, it would help a lot.

I think I'm also bothered by the clouds on the buttons. Since it's stormy, there shouldn't be fluffy clouds.

I like the post-modernist overtones that support the minimalist aura.

Ok, so who's serving the martini's at this showing?

Hmm.. try looking through www.deviantart.com   Wallpapers: Sci-Fi for good backgrounds to use, that lightening I personally think will just not go well on a larger scale.  You'd be same off using marble contact paper if you just want a random pattern.  The liquid around the buttons also kinda look like someone drolled all over the buttons, but thats not too big of a deal.

:-\ :-[those are actually water ripples--didn't get quite the effect I was striving for on that one i guess.  Alright back to the old drawing board i guess...

Also I really don't like the idea of little characters running around my control panel--they always seem ad-hoc unless its a themed design like 1-up's for example.  just an observation, I'm no closer to knowing what the hell i want. :P
