SOLVED: LEDBlinky Controller Config Issue
« on: June 11, 2012, 03:58:52 pm »
I'm sure arzoo is sick of hearing about my issues, but this one has me completely stumped, so here I am again.

First, these are steps taken that work correctly:
1. Created a controller profile for NES (2 player)
2. Created a controller profile for SNES (2 player)
3. Created a controller profile for Gameboy Color (1 player of course)
4. Created a controller profile for Gameboy Advance (1 player of course)
5. Created a list of my wife's favorite games in HS (now these games show up as "unknown" with "Honey'sFaves" listed as the emulator
6. Copied the NES controller profile into Honey'sFaves as the default since she has more NES games than anything
7. Created controller profiles for each individual arcade game in Honey'sFaves
8. Copied the SNES controller profile into Honey'sFaves for each individual SNES game

Now, here's where it all falls apart (kinda) Here are the steps taken and the results:
1. Copied the Gameboy Color/Advance profiles into Honey'sFaves for each game. BUT when activating any of these games from HS, the lights for player 1 are correct, but the player 2 buttons are lit up like they are in the default profile.
2. Opened one of the Gameboy profiles and added player 2. No change
3. Copied player one's controls to player 2, mapped the same keys as player 1 and turned the light intensity to 0. No change
4. Altered player 2's controls to reflect the buttons that were lit, and changed the intensity to 0. I was able to make the 2 buttons that are mapped to the keyboard (iPac) go dark, but not the 2 that register as gamepad buttons (U360)
5. Deleted the default profile for Honey'sFaves. Bam!!! Gameboy profiles work right.
6. Copied the default NES profile into Honey'sFaves for one of the individual games. Won't light up anything, either from HS or from the LEDBlinky test.
7. Created a NES profile from scratch. No change
8. Recopied the NES profile into Honey'sFaves as the default and we're back to square 1 with 2 gamepad buttons lit up for no reason.....

There always a reason  ;)

Can you confirm that you don't have "Always Active" checked for any buttons in the <default> profile? That would explain why they light up for games that don't use them.

Beyond that suggestion, there's way too much going on here for me to diagnose without seeing your log and config files. Please delete your debug.log so it starts empty, then run through the games that don't light as expected. Email me the debug.zip.
Robots will kill you.
