C'mon, who amongst us wasn't willing to jerk a dude off behind Wal-Mart to get our hands on a Wii in 2005?

Sounds like your neck of the woods is really remote.

I got a wii on pre-order when they came out.  Played with it for an hour, thought it was crap, and got five times what I paid for it on ebay the following day.

So in answer to your question....no.

No you didn't.

i don't know what any of you are talking about. I walked into a london drugs the day after release day and walked out with one. they still had a half dozen of them.

same with the PS3 and that as on release day. granted i got the last one there...but still. and I hadn't even planed on buying at all, i just happened to be walking by and thought hey that PS3 was released today, lets see if there is a mob inside. nope.

related but not related...when one of those twilight books was released the walmart by my place was packed full of people camping out to get it cause they where releasing it at midnight. walked down to the other side of the mall to the BOOKstore who was doing a midnight release dealy too...nothing.  :banghead: retards.

guess you all need to rethink where you "campout" for your products.

Oh, man, your anecdotal contradictory experience totally means that everyone else was lying when they said they were sold out everywhere.

 :tool:

not at all. I don't live in a small town by any means...I'm guessing there is just more places here to get things. I mean hell, we got 10 walmarts within the city limits. I guess a capital city with a million people...

I waited the four months until it became available.  I'd called a few places each weekend.  I'm never willing to pay above cost for a console or games.

Some of you people actually believe the media in regards to artificial console shortages?  It was all part of Nintendo's plan to get a wii into every house in America for some sinister purpose.  That or the media exaggerated the fact that stores ran out of stock because everyone is too stupid to try a different store.  The gamestop I preordered my 360 at didn't have enough to cover all preorders so I would have had to wait two months.  I guess the 360 was sold out everywhere too then.

It will be interesting to see how many shovelware clones are made that mimic the Luigi Mansion minigame.  Actually now that I think about it Descent (boardgame) would work pretty well with the wiiu.  One player is the evil bad setting traps and controlling monsters to prevent the heroes from committing theft.  Or maybe silent scope will finally make sense for a console game for anyone who is interested in silent scope.  Even better will be when the next CoD game on the wiiu requires the tablet for the heartbeat sensor.

At some point they will release that one game I'd like to play and I'll get one only to hate them for not publishing three games unless the entire internet sends them a strongly worded letter.
