Does anyone know if you can mount the light bar on top of cabinet. I have a mini caberet so the top of cabinet is about 4 inches from the top of the monitor. i was going to buy the complete kit with the light bar already to plug in to the usb and mount. i do not have marquee. or can i just mount the light bar on top of the monitor, the only thing is I have tinted glass not sure the % but it tinted plexiglass :dunno

I think you should be fine with 4 inches. Just remember, the further between the monitor and the sensor bar, the further you have to stand away from your cabinet. This is because the gun sensor has to be able to see the sensor bar while you're aiming at the bottom of the screen. But again, at 4 inches, you should be able to play fine.
I can try to run some tests tomorrow if I remember.

Four inches should be OK but if you can mount it on top of the monitor, all the better.  Tint shouldn't be an issue as I have mine mounted behind tinted glass.  You may need to increase the gain when mounting behind tinted glass.

Remember too that most digital camera sensors are sensitive to the near-IR range, so if you ever want to make a quick check as to whether an IR source will be visible just grab your cell phone, switch to the camera and see if you see a glow.  Of course, the aimtrak setup utility has a "sensor view check" too, but you can use the cell phone camera trick anytime.

Mounting it 4 inches above will basically work but you will lose some range. You would need to be further away from the screen than normal.
