Street Fighter x Tekken PC - Anyone have it yet?
« on: May 23, 2012, 01:59:59 pm »
I swore that I would never buy another game from Capcom after the cluster ---fudgesicle--- that was SSFIVAE.

Comments on the Capcom message boards are very negative.

Seems that once you give them $50 for the game, they want to charge you extra for some of the the characters you would assume it came with (like Blanka).  ???
Alternative outfits will also cost extra instead of being unlocked as you progress.
They are supposedly reconsidering this.  Same old Games for Windows Live problems.  Not seeing any rants about the controls.

Have I got that right?

At the Capcom online store it says the download version is backordered.  How can the friggin download version be backordered  ???
Have they halted downloads until they fix the things people are griping about?
I put it in my cart and it looked like it would let me check out with it.

I also read that it was only available as a download in the US and there would be no retail box with a physical DVD.
There are some listed on Amazon.  Are these imports?

I'd rather have a physical copy this time since I had trouble re-downloading SSFIVAE and three emails to capcom returned the same useless canned response.
I finally just used the bootleg iso, but I tried it their way first.

Sorry can't help with details on the pc version but I picked up 360 version on release and it sucks. And yeah awful marketing didn't help, they locked a bunch of content on disc to sell as DLC. Oh yeah and the latest patch breaks the game lol. Well for rolento players anyway. (which is about half the online community)

I got my PC copy by nefarious means, because I want to see if it works on my arcade cabinet. It looks and plays as good if not better than the 360 version (that I bought)  But yeah its got a ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- ton of Disc Locked Content just like the 360 version
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

I don't own the PC, but I do own the PS3 version. If Capcom really wanted to keep the extra characters locked, they should at least make the characters unlockable in-game, and just make people pay money for alternate costumes. I really don't like the gameplay in Street Fighter x Tekken. They seemed to pull off Tatsunoko vs Capcom and the Marvel vs Capcom 3 series just fine. What I think Capcom should do is team up again with SNK to make another Capcom vs SNK game. Even though it would be 2D, they could give it high-definition graphics like how SNK has been giving The King Of Fighters series, and give it more characters(or just start over again and still include a large character roster). Another concept that would be cool is to see as a smaller title would be a Capcom vs SNK title that features the original roster from Street Fighter II and the original roster from Fatal Fury 2 as a cross-over title. I apologize for going off-topic.

I'm a big Street Fighter fan. I'm a big Tekken fan. They're two completely different systems. I don't understand the appeal of this game at all. I wouldn't bother bootlegging it, let alone buying it. I feel like the adverts should've said "It's the crossover that no one asked for!!"  :laugh2:

I didn't buy SC5, or Tekken Hybrid. I have NO intention of buying SSF4AE, and I won't bother with UMVC3 until the price drops to $20 or less used.  It seems to be only way to let these companies (Capcom in particular) know that what they're doing isn't cool.
