My 4 player pedestal cab
« on: May 17, 2012, 05:05:00 pm »
This is my first cabinet build.  I used 3/4" MDF for everything but the controller face.  I used 5/8" plywood with a 1/8" plexiglass cover.  I designed the art work in Illustrator.  I started off with a retro Neo Geo and ended up with a sort of Japanese setting sun theme.  I threw in a little samurai guy.  I printed it off at work on a large plotter.  I did it initially for a test fit and ended up leaving it.  I need to go back and glue it down.  It shows waves bad.

The TV is a 42" Visio LCD.  It works great with the VGA input.  The audio is run through the TV as well.  I wanted this TV for the low-ish price and better than average sound output.  I have two U360s attached.  I want to go with 4 for the finished product.  The track ball is from Ultimarc also, the USB version.  I have one black button on the back of the control box that fires up everything and also shuts it all down.  The TV auto recognizes the VGA input and fires up and shuts down based on it.  So all I had to do was wire a button into the start pins on the motherboard.

I should have taken pictures along the way as I was building it, but never thought about getting on a forum while I was in the fabrication process.  I have quite a few hours tied up in this!

Thanks.  It's a liittle under 30" once the TV was mounted.  I'm happy with the distance.
