Colour Fault on New Monitor.
« on: May 14, 2012, 01:27:12 pm »
I have a new Pentranic CGA 15khz CH-288-S26A monitor, and have noticed that a section of the screen has a strange fault when showing the colour red, it appears to turn a washed out red/pink colour. I have attached some pics and posted links for vids to best show this fault.....

Any ideas what is causing it??

Shipping something from the U.S. to Canada for repair/exchange?  Please use USPS to avoid (additional?/excessive?) shipping charges.  PM me if you have any questions.

you basically need a magnetic field to re randomize the screen. it has developed a magnetic field that's pulling the electron beam off course slightly. It's not much...try turning the cabinet 90 degrees and see if it changes. maybe you have some speakers nearby (upstairs downstairs/neighbors house) even steel studs, metal file cabinets and florescent lights have been known to mess with it. arcade monitors are pretty susceptible to magnetic fields screwing with the colors.

that being said, a big speaker magnet waved around can set it straight. but it's very time consuming and you could make the problem worse. but a degauss coil is going to be your best bet. see if there are any repair shops in your area that could loan one to you. call a few amusement company that have video game machines. perhaps they would have one you could use.
