Mamewah Dfend Question
« on: May 10, 2012, 07:39:13 am »
Hello People, long time reader first time poster :D

So about 3 months ago i purchessed myself an old rough arcade machine, HIGH IMPACT 2 player 3 buttons each and 2 8 way joysticks.
I have since replaced all buttons and added 6 per player, i went for red joy with red buttons and Blue joy blue buttons, to try and keep the old style arcade feel.
Installed a 5.1 Sony stez inside (planning to use it as a jukebox when not using it as an arcade machine and yes it pumps!)

The unit has a 22inch original screen and comes originally from the states (Australia here used a stepdown transformer to drop from 230 to 110v)

Anyways enough of that.
The unit is running

Mamewah frontend (seems very easy to configure like the old style it has yell out if anything better)

Super Nintendo (zsnes)
Nintendo          (Nestopia)
Mame              (lastest Mame)
Dreamcast        (Null DC)
Playstation 1     (epsxe)

All of the above runs a treat, however i am a sucker for the old classic dos games they bring my childhood back to life.

I did have dosbox running with games linked in bat files and that worked fine however i found i was having config problems with diffirent games etc.

So i switched to Dfend, its a front end of its own. All my games are installed in this and they all run amazing, so what i am atempting to do is run this through mamewah.

The program allows you to create shortcuts and place them on your desktop and clicking them will load dfend then the game (along with some nice configurations per game etc)

Now i have configured mamewah to run as i believe it should but i am having some problems.

rom_path                                  c:\dfend\shortcuts
rom_extension                             lnk
list_generation_method                    rom_folder
emulator_commandline                      pc

so i can populate my games list fine,
When i select the game it boots up dfend but thats as far as it goes, i should auto load the game like it would if you selected the shortcut manually.

Any Ideas people?

Also thinking about adding the extra 2 buttons per player and turning it into 8 buttons per player.

Another thing anyone know if a good jukebox program?
