Blitz 2000 pc control mapping?
« on: May 08, 2012, 08:43:48 pm »
Hi Guys!

I'm stumped and I'm hoping someone here may be able to help me out.  I've been trying to get Nfl Blitz 2000 pc to work on my cab.  I've tried the emulators but the game runs to slow and or it doesn't look close to the arcade.
I just bought a copy of Blitz 2000 (four player) for pc and the game looks great!  My only problem is that players one and two use the keyboard and I can map those to the ipac but players 3 and 4 are gamepad only.  Is there any program that can convert the gamepads to keystrokes so that I can map those to the ipac?
I've searched for hours on this and can't seem to find anything.
Thank you all for your time and any help that you can give me is much appreciated!

Brad

Not sure if you're saying your setup has controllers for player 3 and 4 or the software only allows controllers for players 3 and 4.

To convert gamepad to keys:
Joy2Key http://www.electracode.com/4/joy2key/JoyToKey%20English%20Version.htm
Xpadder http://xpadder.com/
or Autohotkey http://www.autohotkey.com/

To convert keys to gampead
Vjoy http://headsoft.com.au/index.php?category=vjoy
x360ce http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/
or Autohotkey

Thanks for your response Badmouth!  The game only allows gamepads for controllers 3 and 4.  Andy from Ultimarc emailed me and said that an Apac should work.  I sent him an email to see if that would work with the ipac and jpac that I have set up already for my mame games.
It seems like I would just splice into my existing wires for players three and four that go to ipac and then Blitz will recognize those as being gamepads and I can use my joysticks and buttons.
I would only need to run the apac for this pc game only but don't know if I would need to unplug the apac if I'm not running blitz so it doesn't mess with my mame games or if I can keep both running at the same time with my mame games when I choose them....

Thanks again for your help and anyone elses!

You can just use the Apac for players 3 and 4 in MAME also and not bother having those controls hooked up to the I-pac.
Check out the software above before spending any money and hacking up your build though!
One of the programs in the 2nd set should work just fine.
I use x360ce to simulate xbox controllers for Super Street Fighter IV.

I'll try vjoy and see if I can get it all working. I'm assuming that I would set it up in my front end (Atomic Fe) to run Vjoy only for the Blitz pc game and then have it quit running when I go back to mame? Does that sound right?
Thanks again Badmouth! This helps a lot!
