Oh a Segway -- I'll look totally sane driving around on one of those.

And now to dust off the soapbox: I'm totally against the whole Segway thing.  The last thing people in this fast-food saturated world need is a way to get less exercise.

FYI: The government has recalled all Segways. Apparently people are getting injured when the batteries run low and it no longer can balance on its own.

Funny you mention that -- I was actually standing when I typed that orginally.  There was too much stuff on my chair and I was 'just checking something quick'  There was no chips or soda anywhere near the computer.  

And just because someone plays videogames doesn't automatically make them lazy.   If everyone at this board was, nodoby'd have built a cab.  That takes a lot of physical activity.

Sorry, my post seemed funnier before lunch(it was supose to be light hearted), now that I've eaten it reads very bitter and hateful.

The point is, playing video games is a non active sport, no matter how much blood and sweat you put into building your cabinet when your done building, your playing games.

I feel like a total techno-dweeb riding it around. It just screams "silicon valley nerd," even more than having 3 cellphones and a PDA strapped to your belt. OK, I am in fact a silicon valley nerd, but I don't want everyone to know it.

Nah, I didn't take it as hateful... don't sweat it.  I took it the lighthearted sense... note the litte 'winking' emoticons in the reply.  

As a little poetic justice tidbit - I lost my ride home from work today (my car's temporarily out of sorts) and I had to walk.   About 15 minutes into it I kinda wish I had a Segway.  But getting home without being mocked is my reward.

As an ultimate DIYer,  I am always looking at the crazy stuff people build for themselves.  I see it and think, I can build that.  That was how I built my cab,  I saw them and said "I can build that"  

I am now looking at potato cannons as my next wacky project.
