which tv would be good to use..?
There are two critical things that must be fulfilled when I search for TV’s to use in my cabinets – remote control and the service menu code.
For most games you need to tweak the settings in the service menu (which is normally hidden) else you will have part of the picture off screen.
And to enter the service menu you will need the remote control.
And of course, some brands are better than others, but for me that comes second in priority.
and when wiring the scart onto jamma clip ie video sync red, blue, green etc do you solder off the ones that are already on clip
If you connect a SCART plug directly from the JAMMA connector you need to add some resistors (150 Ohm) since the video signal has a higher voltage than the SCART standard. It could also be convenient to add a + signal so that the TV enters the correct mode automatically (+12V to pin 8 for 4:3 mode and +3V to pin 16 for RGB mode).
The easiest way is to buy a blind SCART plug and add only the leads you need.
this will be for a jamma cab to use jamma games and might use a j-pac
Not really sure about the j-pac, so maybe someone else can fill in about what to consider then.
