Monitor/Bezel questions
« on: September 28, 2003, 06:57:29 pm »
Well, I just bought a 27" television for my MAME cabinet.  Wow, this thing looks way to big but everyone has been recommending a 27.

I went to happcontrols.com and looked at bezels.  When they have a 27" bezel, is that 27" from outside to outside?  Or 27" diagonal, like they measure TVs?  Or 27 from one inner edge to another?

As you can see, I'm totally confused but I want to get this right.  Any help would be appreciated!

The 27" happ bezel will fit your T.V. just fine.  To make the bezel flush with the tv screen you need to take the TV out of the case.  However, I left mine in the case and there is about a 1/8-1/4" of an inch between the bezel and screen.

You can see a photo of it here:

Here are the measurements of the Happ 27" bezel.  You can easily trim the bezel to fit your cabinet with a straight edge and a razor knife.  Just score the plastic, then bend it and it will snap off clean.

Specifically to clear things up for the future. The sizes generally listed for bezels indicate what size arcade picture tube they fit.

A 19" bezel fits a 19" arcade monitor, a 27" fits a 27" arcade monitor, etc.

Now, they do not fit PC monitors correctly, nor do they fit televisions that are still in the case. They also will not properly fit "WEGA" televisions, or any other TV that has a flat or semi-flat tube.
