Wasteland 2 - Kickstarter
« on: March 16, 2012, 10:03:49 am »
Not sure if anyone here played the original Wasteland but essentially it was the father of the Fallout series.  Brian Fargo created a kickstarter page to fund Wasteland 2.  They've got some great perks for funding the game so if you like Post-Apocalyptic turn based RPG's, fund!

Thanks for posting this. I love Fallout 1/2, so I am definitely down for $15.

I also backed Double Fine's "Adventure." I suppose we are going to see a lot more privately funded games in the future.

Ugh, I made the mistake of looking for the original.

If you have good memories of this game and you want to preserve them, just wait for the release of a modern version.

It's funny how some games hold up better than others in that sense. I chucked goldeneye on n64 on the other day. Turns out the games a bit of a turd lol. Didn't match my memory at all. :(

I never played the original Wasteland, but I feel very confident that Fallout 1 and 2 are as fun to play as ever.

Wasteland has it's own quirks but it's still a great game.  Brian's team will do a smashing job with the second no doubt.

As to games holding up, the question is are you playing it because you liked the gameplay or because it's nostalgic.  If it's nostalgic, I find they don't hold up well.  If it's however because the gameplay rocked, then I can play them.
