I like to check the MAMEZach site daily to check out his Game of the Day to see if it's something I'd like to add to my cab: http://mamezach.blogspot.com/. Today the site says:

Anyone know if this is a permanent or temporary removal?

Meant to post earlier, sorry...

Decided to throw in the towel on the blog. Lots of fun to do, but I just don't have the time to commit to it anymore.

Was a good site/service. I understand the work to maintain something like that, but I have to say I'm saddened today!

I can check out/think about the possibility of loading it back up on blogger... but in the meantime, if you want the list of all the Games of the Day, you can email me and I'll send it to you. It won't be the reviews or the pics, but you'll have a list of all approx 180 great games to check out.

Yeah, bit of a shame you pulled it.

There aren't many sites covering the more obscure games emulated in recent versions, and your site gave a good rundown of several of those from the perspective of a regular player, it was a good informative resource which is why I was posting extra trivia for you from time to time :-)

I know a fair bit about many of the games you posted about, because a vast number of them are ones I emulated, and did research on at the time or am otherwise familiar with ;-)

It was a cool site. Its been forever since I blogged, but I recall on blogger you could let others contribute to the blog. Would you consider letting others post their own "Game of the day?" That way you wouldn't feel like it was such an obligation.

Noob here. I discovered the world of BYOAC a few weeks ago and have been obsessed ever since. In my quest to catch up on as much as possible I've been running across a ton of broken links. I bookmarked MameZach just the other day with the intention of going back when I have time and discovering a bunch of games. If there's any way you could put the site back up and just leave it as read-only that would be great for noobs like myself.

Wiki would be cool but I have no idea how I would get all the content from one format to the other...

I logged into my blogger blog and I don't see any way to export, but maybe I didn't look long enough. I'd suggest if all you did was unpublish the blog, then you could republish it.

Why not just leave it up and put a final "not being updated anymore" post online? At least then we'll all get to read your old posts.

Or just change the name from Game of the Day to Game of the Moment.

Hey everyone. A couple of weeks ago, I took down my Classic Games/MAME blog as I no longer have time to dedicate to updating it and I hate when blogs sit idle, old and unattended.

But I got lots of messages and emails from folks who still wanted to go thru some of the content. So, while I still feel the same about leaving unattended and un-updated blogs up, I do realize that I took it down abruptly and without warning. So, I'm gonna make it available again for the next month ('til the end of April) so that those who give a crap can have a little more time to check out additional games and stuff. I appreciate all your feedback and if you find a new game you love because of it, please let me know!

As of May 1st, I'll be taking it down.

Not really sure what you mean. Im saying that even though I dont go there I dont see why he cant leave it up as an archive for those who did go. Its more work to take it down rather than leave it up. Relax, have a beer
