BLITZ 99 KEEPS RESETTING
« on: March 12, 2012, 10:36:36 pm »
Hello.

I am new to this thread thing so bear with me. I bought a Blitz 99 and when I first plugged it in, all that came up with the screen that read the sound tests and the CMOS Coinage. Shortly after there is a loud tone (as if a sound test) Right after that the screen goes black and it resets to the same thing. Yes I have read the thread on here with the same deal and took voltage readings and changed them to 5v and 12v. But the same thing is happening.

Please help.  :banghead:

Unless you know otherwise (e.g. you've replaced it with a known good one already), this means your hard drive is bad.  They go bad quite often.

dumping 10 volts into the 5 volt line on anything (including the harddrive) is going to wreck something.

I'm actually quite surprised that the mainboard is still working at this point.

since we figure the mainboard is operating (self tests and audio test confirm this) get yourself a new drive and download the blitz99 CHD and use the mame tool CHDMAN to dump the image on the drive and you will be back running (http://www.aarongiles.com/?p=97)
