Viewing angle in cocktail cabinet for Dell E248WFPb
« on: March 12, 2012, 08:42:19 pm »
I just received some fantastic help on mounting my monitor in my horizontal cabinet, but as I asked about viewing angle I suppose it is probably best to move that to the monitor section.  I have a horizontal cocktail cabinet and am using a 24" Dell E248WFPb monitor (See link below).  It doesn't appear to be very forgiving when viewed from a level surface.  I need to do some cabinet work before I can get a true reflection of its true "in-cab" presentation, but are there optimal settings that can help the display?  The monitor gives a great picture in an upright cabinet from all sides, but this appears to be a problem at the moment.  For you monitor pros, what are the first settings you'd begin playing with?

rotate it so the "top" of the display is towards the player.  LCD's have terrible viewing angles off axis to the bottom but they're better to the top.  There are no adjustments that I know of on any lcd that affect viewing angles much.

Darn, I'll give it a try and see how it works for player 1 tonight. I may have to eliminate player 2 entirely.  :-\

It is a shame, when the monitor menu comes up it is super clear from all angles (I know the menu colors are simple, but still very vivid).
