panasonic CT27HL14J service menu
« on: March 02, 2012, 04:05:46 am »
So i need to get into the service menu but i don't have the remote for this tv does anyone know if a universal remote will allow me to get into the service menu as it takes the remote to navigate the menu. mostly just the channel and volume key for the adjustments i need from what I've read.

Couldn't find a way to delete the other post.

I use a Logitech Harmony remote to operate TVs that I find without remotes. The basic functions are usually fine using the Logitech definitions but sometimes it's tricky if the service menu uses specials keys or commands. One trick is to find a list of TV models that use the same chassis and try downloading the device definitions (using the Logitech management software) of related models until you find a definition that has all the codes you need from the original remote. Has worked for me in the past.

Either that or get a cheap replacement remote from eBay for your specific TV model. There are heaps of them around.
