Cheapest TV with svid and power up after unplug
« on: September 25, 2003, 04:41:25 pm »
Anyone have models number of 25" or 27" TVs that have s-video.  Two key features needed are:

- Return to svideo after power loss.
- TV returns power if unplug (no remote or power button needed).

Looking for something in the $200 range.

Panasonic  CT-27L8 http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ModelDetail?storeId=11251&catalogId=11005&itemId=64603&catGroupId=11074&modelNo=CT-27L8&surfModel=CT-27L8

Picked it up at costco for $230.00.  600 lines of res.  Great 27" TV for cab.  Does exactly what you want.

Toshiba is good, I have one in my cabinet.

I got mine used, check your local forsale newsgroups and newpaper to see if anyone is selling a TV.  You can save a few bucks that way.  Or ask for a demonstrator model or scratch and dent since you don't care what the outside of the TV looks like because it will be hidden in your cabinet.

I've got a 27" Zenith I picked up used locally. It doesn't have auto power up _but_ if the power button is pushed in when it's plugged in, it turns on. I'm going to short the switch, and that'll be that :). Food for thought, anyway...
