My attempt at a "Vewlix" Style cabinet.
« on: February 27, 2012, 10:42:15 pm »
Iv had the plans from Donovan Myers website for about a year and a half now and finally got around to building it . Spent the last week doing most of the work at work on my breaks and after work. I modifyed the plans a bit to suit my needs , ie. made the foot bigger for fear the 1 1/2" would snap off when I was routering , also I made it 4' high to save on material , used 10 2'x4' sheets of mdf as they fit in the cab of my truck cause its winter here so bed is full of snow. So let me know what you think or any questions. Keep in mind I still need to paint . Also I used pocket hole screws so no visable screws and no wood filler needed. So when im ready to paint Im gonna dissassemble and paint and reassemble.Im thinking white sides and black middle.

I really like how this came out.  You could make it the focal point of a living room, and it doesn't feel so obtrusive.  Great job!

Nice job, I can see a trend coming with these slim "Vewlix" style cabinets.

I like it, it's different and I like how you push the player back since your screen is so large.
