Cpwizard + Hyperspin + Vanilla MAME145 question
« on: February 25, 2012, 10:29:42 pm »
My cab is essentially done. Still have some work to do to finish the lighting.

Software-wise, I went with the combo above.  Everything works great, except for when I open up cpwizard after pausing MAME (with Hyperspin running in the background). Cpwizard opens up just fine, but the joystick doesn't work at all when trying to navigate the cpwizard menu unless i click button 1 on my mouse. If I do, i can navigate it just fine, and then come back to MAME, unpause, and keep playing.

If i just run mame (no hyperspin) then pull up cpwizard, i don't run into this problem at all. So of course, i'm suspecting that this has to do with hyperspin running in the background.

Any thoughts?  Suggestions?

I see 3 possible solutions:

1. Map the mouse button to a CP button, but i tried on WiniPAC and it you can't.
2. Map alt-tab to a button?
3. Ditching cpwizard and using something else that will work with HS and will read command.dat (which is all i want cpwizard for)?

(bump in disguise)
