Bought coin door, no idea on token size?
« on: February 25, 2012, 11:38:08 am »
So I bought a coin door that uses token, well the mech does. I have no idea what size tokens it takes? How would I find out this information?

This is the one I bought:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/230663397626?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619#ht_2490wt_1163

Thanks!

EDIT: Through a stroke of genius ::) I decided to throw a quarter through it, and it went through! I tried a nickel and dime, they came back out the return like expected... So is this a quarter mech or a token mech?

Try a .984 token. Pretty standard.

Looks like it's an adjustable mech which can take a few different sizes of coins (allowing you to pick one size). It's pretty easy to modify any mech to accept multiple sized coins (up to about .984", those batting cage tokens are too big to fit in the coin door slots anyways).

I contacted the seller, he said its set up to take tokens that are the same size and weight as quarters (or quarters). I'm thinking of robbing some tokens from the local arcade (if you can call it that).
