changing layouts "on the fly" in mamewah
« on: September 23, 2003, 08:02:06 pm »
I've read from here forever and I finally decided to sign up and post something.  Hopefully you guys can help (just like you've helped 1,000 times before).

I'm putting the finishing touches on my cocktail.  I have control panels so you can play both vertical and horizontal games.  I have many different custom lists, but the two I like the most are Favorite Horizontal and Favorite Vertical.  Could there be a way to have mamewah switch layouts (between horizontal and vertical) when I switch lists?

I haven't experimented with a vertical layout at all, but I'm guessing that Windows has to be rotated for mamewah to be rotated.  If that's the case, it's probably impossible....maybe?

Thanks for any help!

Well, you cannot change layouts per lists, but you could create 2 emulators the same, but have 1 filtered for horizontal, and 1 filtered for vertical games.  This would enable you to use a layout for each orientation...

But I think Windows would have to be rotated to display MAMEWAH vertically...but you could try it out - if you card supports portrait resolutions, it may be able to switch to and from landscape/portrait?...

I fooled around and I wasn't able to get Windows to rotate the desktop when I changed emulator in Mamewah.

Oh well, I liked the idea.  Guess I'll have to choose which layout I prefer more.  Thanks minwah.
