Need image/ideas for my shifter panel
« on: September 23, 2003, 04:06:53 pm »
I am trying to decide on what image to make to place on my driving cab shifter panel (see pic below).  The panel measures 13-1/2" wide by 39-3/8" long.   I have been having trouble finding images of stuff dealing with cars though, so I am having trouble trying to decide what the image should look like.  Does anyone know where driving image scans are located to use in PhotoShop (ie: cars, drivers, wheels.....whatever)?

I saw the image which Zakk (from BYOAC) used on his control panel top and I thought it was cool but my wife just did not love it.  I might end up using it, but was wondering what other people could come up with.

My wife would like a true design (maybe with some cars or something).   Keep in mind this can not be too flambouyant(sp?) since the cab is going to be out for everyone to see.

Anyway, I was thinking along the lines of a SpyHunter screen shot expanded to cover the shifter panel which would have the Spy Hunter car shooting bullets and other cars/trees, etc  existing.

Keep in mind:

1) The sides surrounding the driving cabinet are painted black.

2) The arcade seat used for my driving cabinet is blue and red (thus I would like the image to kind of blend the seat color into it if possible)

3) Based on the holes in the shifter panel you notice that I have 4 types of shifters and the rest are pushbuttons....

Anyway, any ideas you people can think of would be appreciated.  Also, any images which you could post related to "driving" stuff would be great as well.

PS:  I was also thinking of the tire track from a Frogger control panel.   That might look cool running down the right side of the shifter panel top but I scraped the idea since there would not be any real color involved and the shifter panel would look to "black"

Here is a picture (I do not have a better picture here at work...sorry) of my arcade seat colors.  You can get the idea though of what it looks like.
