LED leads.
« on: February 06, 2012, 12:29:25 am »
Not really a technical question or much of anything really....

Is there a purpose for the nibs, bumps, pimples or whatever they are called on LED leads?

I had a hell of a time soldering resistors directly to the LED leads because, I think, I couldn't clean all the old oxide off. My solder blobs have black streaks on them.  :banghead:

Oh well, at least it's not a permanent circuit.

Im pretty sure they are there for depth control when they are being soldered to circuit boards.

Guess you're not supposed to solder past that point then? Oops, oh well. These are for a breadboard so it's no loss.
