Hellz to the yeah! The trilogy of beat-em-up are complete (even though Turtles In Time is a "remastered" version). :D

Ark, again, no one's forcing you to buy it.

Nevermind that I no longer have to invite over three like-minded friends to play multiplayer Simpsons (or crowd around a control panel in the arcade):

Quote
The game includes four-player online cooperative play, new modes, and additional bonus content featuring a never-before-seen Japanese version of the game, view classic flyers and posters, and a characters guide.

Sounds pretty sweet.  :)

I think he means Corn Beef hash is good, and so is this game.

Why would we possible want to replay games from our youth, right?

Since, Ive already taken the troll bait.....

How is this a rehash? I mean I cant readily recall the Simpsons game being released on any platform other than the iOS port (and prolly droid)

If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

I somehow never played this game, would like to check it out. I wonder if I can go back to classic brawlers after Castle Crashers and Scott Pilgrim though.

Completed projects: Pac bartop (Plug & Play), 30th Anniversary Pac cab (MAME), Point Blank (PS1), Centipede (arcade hardware- light restore), VS. Super Mario Bros (arcade hardware- light restore) Tetris Cocktail (SNES), Arcade Classics upright (60-in-1, then MAME), Multi-Raiden (arcade hardware). Pac Man vs.(Gamecube),

Working on: Pinball Re-theme, Homebrew arcade arena shooter

 :bat

You - out of my hobby.

Seriously, though, the Konami fighters are probably the best fight and go rights.  The levels are usually kind of interesting and not complete nonsense.

 :stupid
Pictures are overrated anyway.

Yeah, for some reason growing up in my area I encountered TMNT and X-Men several times, just never Simpsons. Tried to play it at an arcade about a year ago but all the controls were busted (lame).

The arcade a mile away from me still has the two player version of the Simpsons. I would like to see something new, but I guess rehash is enough fodder for the masses.

But to a large amount of people, this is "new" inasmuch as they probably haven't had the opportunity to play it outside of the arcade. The game was only ported to the C64 and PC (which, in the early 90's, probably played like crap) and the iOS version is quite different.

Yeah, you can play it on MAME. But emulation is not exactly mainstream. Explain how to run an emulator to the person who's computer experience consists entirely of "logging into Facebook".

So should a game not be released because, theoretically, anyone could just (a) drive around finding the one arcade that still has that game, if they can find ANY arcade at all (b) figure out how to use MAME, find the correct roms, and read pages of documentation to get it running or (c) play a game that's similar, but not the same, on their iPhone?

But yeah, you don't particularly like when old games are rereleased or updated for new consoles. And that's fine.  We get it. What we don't get is why you hang around and comment on a thread for a remake you have no intention of playing.

I play it occasionally on Mame, I just would like to see something enhanced for a more powerful console than a simple port.  I would buy it if it had new characters or better game play.  Like Space Invaders Extreme for example.

Personally, I'd like to see more arcade ports released to the home market. Would be nice to see Namco, Konami and other former arcade greats support it. The Game Room on XBLA was a GREAT idea, but it never got off the ground properly. Would be different if we were like Japan and arcades were still very prevalent, but this country strayed from that along time ago and except for a few exceptions, sadly, arcades are dead in the US. Don't get me wrong, I like to be able to flop in front of my HDTV and play games without leaving the house, but I also would like the social interaction of an arcade in my area. I hate bars, but with arcades you know you share at least one thing with everybody that comes into one, you both like video games.

At bars everyone likes drinking... ;D
Maybe you just don't like drinking enough to really enjoy the bar environment. It would be like an 80+ years grandparent standing in an arcade waiting for their grandchild to get his/her fix. "Just one more, grandma." :lol
