COULD THIS BE THE BEST XMAS PRESSY EVER WOOT!

Hey Guys & Gals just noticed last night that iMAME has made it to the official app store for both the iPhone and iPad. I have seen things like this happen before and quickly get taken down after bullying from the big boys like namco, Atari ect ect. So my advice grab it quick before it gets pulled.

I haven't had much time to look at it but it looks very much like the jailbroken one and I'm assuming that you drop the roms in iTunes ill check later as too much Xmas shopping to be done.

Anyway on the back of this I knocked a quick project up to get a look of the size and feel of the thing. Not sure how controls will fit in as the jailbroken one allows a wii controller to be hacked but it does have iCade support so something might crop up.

Taken from Jackobuds Scale plans of Pacman/Galaxian (can't remember which) I created a template to work from and cut it out of MDF

Add a couple of bracers to strengthen

Front, CP, and internal profile to hold phone/itouch and TA DAAA! quick and easy iPhone/iTouch cab

Ill knock up some graphics in next day or so and check out the app to see if its all viable.

  • Should I eat'em or what?
Well the nice people at apple have taken down the iMAME program already.  I am glad I downloaded it when I saw your post this morning.

the reason they took it down is because there is an program that lets you access the ipod/ipad/iphone hard drive without a jailbreak. so you could add other games besides the ones that was included with the app. which is why most emulators get banned.

I like the design, but I don't understand how will you be able to see the entire iphone screen in that small opening? (maybe you don't need to)

Looks cool, I have subscribed to this thread as well as some of the other mini iprojects happening. Seems to be all the rage suddenly.
