TV Connection Problem
« on: December 22, 2011, 12:16:12 pm »
I have found an ideal monitor for my MAME cabinet. It is a 19" GE CRT TV. I want to connect my PC to it, but there's a problem:

The TV only accepts cable input!

What can I do? In case you need to know, my PC has VGA and S-Video output. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Get a new TV?  Seriously.  The other option is get an S-Video or VGA to RF converter, and that's going to look like utter crap.

Do you have anything like goodwill or other second-hand stores around you?  There's always a couple of old 19" gateway or dell monitors sitting around there for $5.

If that doesn't work try craigslist.  Tons and tons of stuff on there.

So basically, I have no choice but to get a new monitor? Great. Just when I thought I didn't need to spend more money. Thanks for the tips, though.
