I just installed new caps and the middle section of the screen is still verticaly squeezed and the top and bottom sections are verticaly streched.

The only caps that I didn't change are C4, C5 and C6. They don't seem like regular caps... because they have no + or - ... If you could enlighten me on this it would be nice. Should I put new ones?

This is how the manual describes them.

Or what else could cause this distortion? Also, What's you opinion on the geometry/convergence? The corners are sticking out a bit too much in my opinion but I don't know how bad it is compared to other monitors... Could I fix this with those magnetic strips? Or permalloy strips or yoke tabs they sometimes call.

  • I break stuff...then fix it...sometimes
Looks alright to me... nothing a few tweaks of the vertcal and horizontal cant fix. Don't forget you are trying to display a square image on a round screen.

Those caps are non-polarized also known as bi-polar. They wont have a positive or negative and will work either way.
