Pretty cool bud.
What size monitor are you going to end up with in there?
I know you're not keeping that little 19" in there... :-\

I like the industrial theme...

You ought to go for a MAMEy... hehe... It's definately an original.

I like your cab design. Very artistic with cup holders!

Is that red glow at the bottom on purpose?

The red glow is a string of red rope lite that goes all the way around the cabs bottom. looks real cool at night.

As far as monitor goes im gonna upgrade to a 27 inch TV or monitor im mstill debating, but i gotta wait till its in the budget :(

That's cool... I just wanted to make sure you weren't planning on abusing that piece of art with such a small monitor for the rest of it's life... ;)

Very nice and original.

What are the overall dimensions? ie. height, width, and depth. Just trying to gauge the size of it.

Will it be deep enough for a 27" monitor?

Thanks.

Its about 7 feet tall and about 30 inches wide from the front.

Monitor depth will be an issue I think this 19 inch i have is right up against the back.
When i get to that point im just gonna have to see maybe i can get a tv that would fit.

Worst case scenerio I cut some "venting" holes.  ;D

Just curious, the wires coming from the control panel, do they serve a function or just decoration. If functional, good use of wiring! ;D

WOW that is cooool. Love the red light at the bottom. Kinda makes my cab project seem a bit feeble now lol.
Well done.

I bet that control panel still isn't finished in 6 months lol.

Is that white thing on the control panel a small spinner, or a soda bottle cap?

Hi guys, Thanks for the compliments i am really suprised how well recieved my cab would be.

They are only cosmetic the real wired run through the bottom of the CP.

Thanks snake. I painted the cab with primer/sand/primer/ Then i used some gray paint i got at home depot and mixed in some metalic paint though the metallic didnt show up that much. I wanted to do like an airplane type theme.

I then put 2 or 3 base coats sanding in-between. I recently got into airbrushing so i took a shot a doing it on the cab. I went for a metallic plate look if you look close you can see i painted over 100 rivets. For the red parts I cut stencils out using illustrator and gave it a sloppy red  overlay I then poly eurethaned the whole thing 3 times with a spray gun.

It came out very well it almost looks and fells like laminate and is very stain and wear resistant. I was a little dissapointed with the pictures make the paint look sloppy.

Heres some other stuff i recently airbrushed,

Eeeek. Is that Aluminum diamondplate for a floor mat!??!?!?!?!
You realize the reason they bolt metal down in a car is because it can decapitate you, right????
Broken glass for a floor mat looks even cooler..... it's all sparkley. Looking forward to the future Darwin award.

p.s. Nice paint on the cab, I'm not a fan of the overspray look in the car but the rest is nice. Ever do models? Looks very similar to many techniques used on armour.
If you build a frankenpanel, chances are I don't care for you as a person.

Nope they are diamond plate.

The odds of me getting decapitated by a floormat... ill take my chances.

The floormats are for car shows. I dont use them all the time because i dont want to scuff them with my shoes.

I love diamond plate.  I've even considered making portions of an arcade cab out of it.  Again nice work.  The light coming from the bottom of the cab is another nice touch.  If you added some small wings your cab would almost look like an aircraft of some sort.  Could be cool.

Thanks Pathdoc

Diamond plate is awesome but it is very difficult to cut. I was thinking about the wing idea when i started but i figured it would look less bulky without it.

I really think my CP and marquee art is gonna make the cab. Now if i can just get to it.

Thanks Rampy.

You were very helpful when i was trying to figure everything out.

Just to update...

Picked up some smoked plexi from Lowes and im gonna try and put that on this weekend. Still debating velcro or screws to hold it down on 1x1s screwed to the inside. Any ideas? I should also be getting my speaker grills, piano hinge, and latches this weekend.

And I actually started working on my CP art but im still far away on that :(
