I will probably spend winter 2012-2013 with Skyrim once it hits $20 or so.

Yep, I am just now playing Fallout: NV, so I am sure I will do the same.
Completed projects: Pac bartop (Plug & Play), 30th Anniversary Pac cab (MAME), Point Blank (PS1), Centipede (arcade hardware- light restore), VS. Super Mario Bros (arcade hardware- light restore) Tetris Cocktail (SNES), Arcade Classics upright (60-in-1, then MAME), Multi-Raiden (arcade hardware). Pac Man vs.(Gamecube),

Working on: Pinball Re-theme, Homebrew arcade arena shooter

My wife got me this (PC Version) game for Christmas, she told me afterwards that when she rang our local game shop they just laughed at her when she asked
if she could "come down and pick up a special edition copy" i.e. they were all pre-ordered up months ago.  Not to be deterred she used the interweb and got me one in from the US.

The box was large, I'd told her I wouldn't mind a new cordless drill for Xmas, that's what I thought I was unwrapping after she gave it to me  :lol .

Haven't had the time to play it until recently when I was ill in bed.  It's getting me in now, I gotta say it's a lot of fun.

That's a 46" TV in behind the dragon that came out of the box.  The image looks a bit washed out on the TV because of the light source color on El Dragon.

Here's the mods I'm running with it, nothing like the massive list I had for Oblivion but they do make a significant difference to the look and feel of the game.

Have you tried the texture pack?
Old, but not obsolete.

Have you tried the texture pack?

I assume you mean the Skyrim HD - 2K Textures by NebuLa which are in the list I posted?  There are a few other texture packs out there too.  NebuLa's stuff is pretty good and still a WIP, greater detail in just about every game texture is a nice step up from vanilla.  I noticed a bit of lag on my PC after adding them but even this was greatly improved after Bethesda's latest 1.4x update, framerate is now quite playable on my PC (I5 CPU, Dual Radeon 5770 GPUs, 64 bit Win 7 OS, 8 Gb ram)  running medium to high game settings at 1920 x 1080.
