What game is this?
« on: September 15, 2003, 09:52:34 pm »
I used to play a game many years ago.
Basically you were a little ship type thing that moved across the surface of a planet and you could get power ups that gave you the legs ( and then you would walk across the planet ) and then the head for your ship and the fire power increased as you got more parts for your ship. I think the legs were orange cloured?
It's really bugging me coz I want to play it but have no idea what it was called?
Thankyou

Mag Max.

It is in Mame, but the driver has a bug.

Well, it isn't a bug so much as it is either a hard coded cheat, or some sort of interior service button mapped as button 2.

Basically, pressing button 2 causes the game to run as fast as the (virtual) processor can run it. You can even do it during attract mode. It doesn't change the sound at all though.

So basically, un map button 2 to play this game correctly.

Oh my god that's it, you little beauty! ( that's a kiwi expression by the way lol ). Paige you're a legend! Cheers.

By the way, what do you mean unmap button 2? It's a 2 button game. How do I do that and what effect does it have on game play?

I don't think it is actually a 2 button game. The only effect I can see that button number 2 has is to speed the game up to unplayable speeds.

To unmap it, tab out to where you can configure the controls, then go to remap button 2, and press escape (or whatever button or button combo that exits out of the game for you), this will change the buttons mapping to "none".
