Laminate in Georgia
« on: October 31, 2011, 03:27:35 pm »
Hey do any of you Atlanta know where I can get laminate (Formica)  I have looked all over the place..no luck. Cabinet shops wont sell it, Home Depot no longer has it.  I just need two sheets of solid black.
Thanks

I know our local "lowes" carries a lot of different colors including black.  Might want to check there.

open the phone book and look for building suppliers, lumber yards, plywood suppliers...  You should be able to find someone who sells the stuff with the laminate already applied...  Also they may not call it formica...  Formica is just one brand of laminate and not everyone will carry it.  Besides formica you can look for Melamine or Duramine..  Also look for something called combi-core  its basically plywood in the middle with a layer of MDF outside and a layer of duramine/melamine outside of that.  It's really nice and really fun to work with...

Fill in your location and this should help you find a distributer of Wilsonart Laminate.

This.  Late response, but the Wilsonart warehouse east of Atlanta is 50% cheaper (at least) than the exact same stuff at Lowe's or Home Depot (which they have to special order from that warehouse anyway).

I thought I read somewhere on here that with wilsonart you have to have a business license or own your own business or something to order from them---They don't sell to general public.. Correct me if I am wrong, If i can save a TON of $$$ ill go with them.
Thanks

I didn't have any trouble buying direct from the one here.  Just called them, placed the order, drove over and picked it up.

Probably a good idea to pick out the style you want before calling... they only sold full 4'x8' sheets when I bought mine.  They'll roll it up for you, easily fits in the back seat of a car.
