help: applying a diff patch not working for me

Hello
I need help to apply this diff to mame.143. It comes from here
David Haywood's Homepage » I said: “We went to the moon and now we’re watching these buffoons?”
http://mamedev.emulab.it/haze/2011/07/07/i-said-we-went-to-the-moon-and-now-were-watching-these-buffoons/
I've tried with MAME compiler by Headkaze and official mamedev patch tools with no luck (win 7-64 bits)
I would like to get the system16b.c file patched
Is there someone kind enough to patch it for me?
Thank you in advance
