Fade Resistance Question
« on: October 25, 2011, 12:42:52 am »
Does anyone here have enough experience with EMDKAY's Duratrans or Gameongrafix marquees to give an informed opinion on how they compare with the original screen printed marquees in the area of fade resistance?

I couldn't find a way to send an e-mail to Gameongrafix and when I attempted to send message to EMDKAY's via the site, even though I included no URLs I would only get a page with the following message...

Your form submission has been rejected as it appears to be an abuse of our server (www.emdkay.net).

Darren,

All Prints are susceptible to fading given enough time. Even Screen-Printed.
The affecting factors being the lighting used, the inks used, placement of the artwork (aka - direct sunlight/UV exposure), etc...
When artwork is printed using today's newer professional inkjets, inks and materials, they are very color-fast and resistant to fading.
The correct inks have UV protection and the correct over-laminates, if used, have UV protection as well.
To answer the question directly, I have never personally purchased a Marquee from GoG or Emd but I do know that the materials they use are the correct ones.

I'd be glad to answer any other questions you have.
My email is john@basementarcadegrafx.com or call me at 517.8512.4286
And Yes, I do have my own arcade printing business but I'm happy to help no matter where you purchase your artwork printing from.

John

We don't get that question very often.

Thanks.

I'm already aware of what you said above. This is more about the popular marquee art producers versus the original screen-printed artwork as far as fade resistance.

Does anyone here have enough experience with EMDKAY's Duratrans or Gameongrafix marquees to give an informed opinion on how they compare with the original screen printed marquees in the area of fade resistance?

Yeah. That's why I asked it.

Yeah. That's why I asked it.

Have you researched the popular choices of marquee light sources in relation to this question yet?

No. I'm only concerned with the observed fade resistance comparisons between the printers/processes I covered above.
