Wg257504 with breakout cable
« on: October 16, 2011, 10:01:43 am »
I'm using an arcade vga3000 with a breakout cable on a wg257504. Since i started using this combo the picture seems unstable to me. A couple examples are if i right click and open the mouse menu the screen kind of pulsates with the opening and closing. The other example is when playing mk2..I add coins and (press start) is flashing at the bottom of the screen. the screen pulsates with the flash. Also i switched mk2 to direct draw 400x256 switch res to fit blah blah..but when i did i lost vertical hold and got fold over. The only thing i can think of that's different from the way i used to run mame is I'm not using the jpac anymore. So are these issues from not having an amp?

It doesn't show great as far as the mk press start part..but you can see the bounce im talking about. also the screen has an overall vibration to it.

try turning the brightness down a bit...if it gets better then you might have a weak cap in the B+ power supply.

some amount of "bloom" is normal on monitors.

Thanks for the input. I turned it down to no avail. Let me make things weirder. The person who made the cable for me has the same is with his but what fixes it is using a vga splitter going too two monitors . If one monitor is disconnected it gets unstable. Also note the my contrast is up all the way pretty much on the remote do to not having an amp.
