Recording High-scores.

Hi I know this question has been asked and I have searched for it. But I can't seem to find a simple tutorial on how to do it.
I found some info but they say it won't work on 1.43

So far I know that you can't do it for all the games because some games were designed different than others.

I'm using Mame 1.43 with Maximus arcade.

Can some one point me to where I can get more info?
