Old Apple game
« on: October 05, 2011, 01:29:59 pm »
I'm posting this on behalf of a friend. He's looking for the name of a game that, as far as he remembers, came bundled with an Apple Mac computer and will be at least 10 years old.

A copy of his descriptions....

It was a puzzle type game where you moved from one section to the next once you'd solved the problem. Just keyboard controls and I remember it came bundled with the Apple computer from new. There appear to be loads of games with the Egyptian/Ramases theme but I've yet to see that particular one. The main feature was that "Ramases" spent the whole game ridiculing whatever efforts your were making to solve the puzzles "is that the best you can do" "give up now - you can never win" - which made it even more fun. It was at least ten years ago so it was pretty simple with none of the animated graphics you get now - just very "old school".

it was something like Pharoah's Curse or Ramesis Revenge - a platform game set inside an Egyptian pyramid and it came with an old Apple computer.
Ramesis the pharoah heckled you as you played the game. Stuff like "is that the best you can do ?" and "you have angered Ramesis" in a big booming voice.

Does that ring any bells with anyone? He's pulling whatever hair he has left out trying to find this out :)

Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks for looking ;)
