Which fighting game movie is worse? Tekken or King Of Fighters?

Ive watched them both in the last 2 weeks. Man they are steaming piles.

Tekken had some star power and fairly accurate costumes, KOF had maggie Q , Vice and Mature as lesbian lovers, and KINDA followed the KOF story line except for that whole Mia Shiranu and Terry Bogard are CIA agents, and terry bogard has a bad lisp and no pony tail.

I rank both of these WORSE than Street Fighter : The Movie. Im still looking for the Dead Or Alive movie, I heard its a real stinker too.

If theres a fighting game based movie thats worse, let me know. If you havent seen either movie, save yourself 3 ours of your life and dont watch them. KOF felt longer than lord of the rings.

tekken sucks, kof is good (well a couple of the iterations) MK sucks (all of them) SF is the best, don't care much for dead or alive, or any other 3d fighter for that matter.  

skimmed over the 'movie' part for some reason  those were my rankings for the games olol

the best fighting game movie is without a doubt the SF animated movie, then the sf live action (the van dam one) all the rest are crap bar maybe the first MK movie but i probably wouldn't want to watch that nowadays

In my opinion just about every video game that went movies has come out really terrible.  I heard about he Kof movie, i don't even want to go near it.

1. MK 1
2. Street Fighter:   The Movie  (The only reason this movie turned out so iffy is the fact that the SF universe makes no sense and the lead villian died halfway through filming.)


(Note:  There is a HUGE jump in quality from here down... 1 and 2 are good to great, everything else is varying degrees of crap)

3. DOA   (Cute girls and no other reason for it's rank)
4. MK 2
5. Double Dragon (Technically this isn't a fighting game.. it's a beat-em-up... but Alyssa Milano is in it.)
6+7.  Tekken and KOF (If I didn't even know they made films then they must be pretty terrible.)
8.  Street Fighter:  The Legend of Chun-Li

imo tekken > kof. legend of chunli is easily the worst video game movie ever tho.


2nd mk movie was good lol. so bad its good kinda way. plus sindel is a hot milf

5. Double Dragon (Technically this isn't a fighting game.. it's a beat-em-up... but Alyssa Milano is in it.)

There was a double dragon fighting game, but it came out after the movie, and actually had FMV clips from the movie in it. They even ret-canon'ed the new game to match the movie, like Marian not being the GF but a gang leader. It was actually pretty fun.

My vote is for street fighter films being the worst. Not only were they two horrible live action movies, but the first one spawned a horrible game as well.

I thought Raul didn't die until after filming. I think that was just bad story and poor directing that ruined the film.


Oh, and I agree that the first MK was decent, about the only fighter movie I will re-watch from time to time. Kinda reminded me of Enter the Dragon and that is probably the only reason it somewhat worked plotwise.

I thought Raul didn't die until after filming. I think that was just bad story and poor directing that ruined the film.

Well they soon realized that the film kind of stunk and they wanted to go back and re-shoot several keys scenes, but he died before they could. 

I think they managed to reshoot one or two shots with hsi stunt double but in reality they wanted to pretty much wanted to reshoot the whole film. 

Regardless, The reason I ranked it so high was bacause of Raul... even if everybody else in the whole movie stunk up the screen, his performance was fantastic and a flawless rendition of what most people thought Bison would be like.  He literally carried the whole film, which is pretty impressive considering how awful it was.

The Double Dragon fighting games don't exist.... just like Star Wars starts at episode IV and there aren't any prequels.

Have you guys seen the mini clips of the new MK series some dude wanted to do, and he tried to get studio funding so he could actually make a movie? The dude from Spawn is in it, and its supposed to be a realistic take on the MK series.

Your opinion is of the minority then...

That was MK 1 which is often listed as the best video game movie of all time.  (Aside from Tomb Raider, and that has less to do with the games and more to do with an attractive actresse's backside.)

The second film is the only other one and it is universally regarded as varying degrees of terrible. 

Yup I've seen them... they are crap.  MK is supposed to be an "out there" fantasy world in the vein of the Tolken books (ok use a darker example of involved fantasy... it's late and I'm tired).  When you ground it in reality (which the clips really didn't do btw) you take everything that is MK away from the concept.

Well of course, but those were the episodes that the original "gritter" director/writer had little or nothing to do with. 


And keep in mind, even Duce Bigelo:  Male Gigalo had it's moments.
