ArcadeVGA (hd2400) driver installation problems
« on: September 08, 2011, 11:28:38 pm »
Okay, so here's the set up:
-WG D9200 33"
-Asus M4A77D mobo
-AMD Phenom II @ 3.5ghz
-Ultimarc ArcadeVGA (HD2xxx series version)
-Windows XP Pro 32

Now for the issue.  The card functions fine until I install the avga driver, at which point several things happen.  Resolution drops to 640x480, color depth to 4 bit.  Then the system will sometimes hang after a few minutes with a blue screen off an ati2dvag.dll error.  Moreover, if the display control panel will allow for resolution switches (it doesn't always) it usually hard locks the system.

Now this happens no matter what method I use to install the driver. I've installed it through the executable, through device manager, through device manager in safe mode, with and without system wipes, and with and without ATI driver wipes. It seems that nothing I do has any sort of impact on whether the driver functions correctly.

Does anyone have any clue as to how I can get this thing to work? My cab has been sitting collecting dust ever since my initial rig got coffee-fried.  Not to mention that I've been trying to get this incarnation to work for several months now, with multiple motherboards even.

You probably want to contact Andy. That sounds like the card might be bad.
